About Me & Releases
Releases
My Releases
Some of my sound creations remain unique and can only be experienced in the moment of their creation. Others later find their way into audio and video releases, making it possible to reconnect with the original intention and atmosphere of the moment in which they came into being.
In this way, my sound creations move between the emergence and experience of a fleeting moment and the desire to make this moment accessible beyond its original creation.
On my different platforms, I release contemplative gong sound journeys, videos, live recordings, and experimental soundscapes that arise from my passion for the gong and its sound potential.
Some of these sound journeys are intentionally short and are suitable for small moments of retreat in everyday life — to breathe, pause, and let go. Others unfold over a longer period of time and invite you to dive deeper and allow a meditative experience to emerge.
Regardless of how or when one experiences the art of gong playing, it remains a process-based and living form of sound art.
Videos & Visual Interpretations
On my YouTube channel, I release gong recordings, gong baths, sound journeys, and videos that I create and produce myself.
The videos are not merely an accompaniment, but a visual interpretation of my sound creations. Through nature sequences, reflections of light, and touching visual moments, each sound journey becomes a visual story that reflects the atmosphere and character of the respective sound story.
Some of my videos also offer insights into my personal way of playing the gong and make visible what stands behind the recordings.
Some of my shorter sound creations originally emerged from the wish to create formats that offer a compact and as undisturbed as possible listening experience, despite the advertising structures on YouTube. From this, short contemplative gong meditation formats under eight minutes developed, which are especially suitable for small pauses, moments of retreat, deep relaxation, or brief meditative breaks during the day.
Over time, it became clear that these short formats are used by many people in very different ways — either for themselves or as part of their own sound bath, meditation, or relaxation practice.
Experimental Soundscapes
Another important part of my creative world is experimental soundscapes. In them, I explore the sound potential of the gong, for example in connection with natural sounds, voice, or other instruments.
Many playing techniques and approaches have developed over the years — both through my own research and through exchange and concerts with other sound artists and musicians on La Réunion.
I am especially fascinated by the question of how far the sound potential of the gong can be expanded and connected with different musical styles. In these creative processes, I am continually surprised by what becomes possible.
To preserve the greatest possible artistic freedom, I have also taught myself many of the technical skills needed to record, edit, and produce my works. This allows me to shape the entire creative process myself, from the first idea to the final release.
The experiences that emerge from this process flow directly back into my videos, recordings, and releases.
YouTube, Spotify, Deezer & Bandcamp
In addition to YouTube, I also release my works on Spotify, Deezer, and Bandcamp.
While image and sound come together on YouTube, music platforms such as Spotify and Deezer place the listening experience at the center. There, the recordings can be experienced independently of the video — as a meditative pause or as contemplative music.
Bandcamp also offers the possibility to download my releases directly and to support my creative work in a more direct way.
For me, these platforms are not only places of release. They make it possible to share my works beyond time and place, and to make them accessible to people who are interested in my art of gong playing.
IMPORTANT: Listening Note
Many of my works move within deep frequency ranges that smartphone speakers can often reproduce only partially, or not at all. For a fuller listening experience, I therefore recommend using headphones, a good Bluetooth speaker, or suitable loudspeakers, so that the sound colors, dynamics, and depth of the recordings can be perceived more clearly.
If my sound creations touch you, I am grateful for every subscription, like, and share of my releases. Each of these gestures supports me in continuing to develop my art and in allowing new sound spaces to emerge.
Through Bandcamp, you also have the opportunity to support my sound art directly by purchasing individual releases or by choosing a voluntary contribution. This support flows directly back into new recordings, productions, and artistic projects.
